The Watchdog with David Bozell
The New York Post just covered MRC’s latest research on Apple News, and the data is straightforward.
In January, Apple News highlighted 620 stories. Not one came from a right-leaning outlet. Zero.
This comes from our brand new Digital News Tracker, which monitors how major news apps curate content for millions of users each day. Apple News, preloaded on iPhones, overwhelmingly promoted the same left-leaning legacy outlets while excluding conservative sources entirely.
Apple claims neutrality. The data says otherwise.
That’s why we built this system. Complaints don’t change anything. Documentation does. Right now, MRC is the only organization tracking this level of editorial control inside the news apps most Americans use every day.
ICYMI, I recently appeared on WMAL’s The Derek Hunter Show to call out Apple News. Their human editors make right-leaning sources almost invisible in top stories, while consistently delivering negative framing of conservatives. For busy voters or older users who rely on these apps, that curation isn’t neutral; it’s directional, and if it doesn’t change, there will be consequences come November.
I also joined Lara Trump on her The Right View podcast last week to unveil our MRC Digital News Tracker, which breaks down how these apps regurgitate the same elite media echo chamber even as public trust in legacy outlets collapses. Our tracker is a powerful tool for exposing how they deliver the party line under the guise of “top stories.”
At MRC, we’re getting our message out everywhere: our websites, social media, and pick-ups across the board. Just Monday, MRC Free Speech America VP Dan Schneider braved the freezing New York morning to appear on Fox & Friends First. There, he discussed landmark Big Tech free-speech cases against Meta and YouTube, which he called the “Super Bowl” for those who care about Big Tech free-speech rights and how these companies operate.
Beyond digital reach, we’re hitting the airwaves hard — top TV, radio stations, and podcasts — to extend our message and ensure Americans get the unredacted truth ahead of November. Big Tech and these news apps are trying to hijack the narrative and tank conservative perspectives.
This kind of work doesn’t happen by accident. It takes time, technology, and a team willing to follow the evidence wherever it leads. Right now, MRC is the only organization tracking this level of editorial control inside the news apps most Americans use every day.
I wanted you to see the impact of your support in action. More soon.
Take it easy,
David Bozell
